At Potton Primary School, we are passionate about nurturing a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability across our school community.

Introducing Our Eco Committee
We’re proud to launch our new Eco Committee, made up of enthusiastic representatives—one child from each class—who are dedicated to making a difference. The committee has already held its first meeting, where members explored biodiversity within our school grounds, investigated local wildlife habitats, and began discussing the impact of plastic pollution on both local and global scales. Their ideas and energy are helping us shape a greener future, starting right here in our school. As a committee, we have already come of up with our action plan for the year. Carbon Action Plan
Leading our sustainability efforts is Mr Boyd, who has taken on the role of Sustainability Lead. He has developed our school’s Carbon Action Plan, which outlines how we aim to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to a greener future. A huge thank you to Let's Go Zero for supporting the creation of the plan. The plan is attached below.

This work aligns with the Department for Education’s sustainability and climate change strategy, which requires all education settings in England to have a nominated sustainability lead and a climate action plan in place by the end of 2025. Our plan will focus on areas such as energy efficiency, biodiversity, climate education, and reducing carbon emissions. [Sustainabi...education]
